What we believe

  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”                                      

John 1:1-4

  

What we believe, is the core and very foundation of our faith as a church. It is certainly difficult to encompass every aspect of those beliefs in a statement, however it is important to list the fundamentals of that foundation, all of which have their origin in the inerrant word of God.

BIBLE

We believe in the Holy Bible as written that it is without error from the beginning to the end. Its writings are from God himself, penned by Man through the Holy Spirit. (Proverbs 30:5, II Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, II Peter 1:20-21) 

GOD

We believe in God, as revealed unto us through the Holy Bible; the God of Israel, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Who was and is revealed unto us in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 26:24, Exodus 3:15, II Kings 13:23, Matthew 28:29, II Corinthians 13:14) 

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God. He is God in the flesh and He is both divine and human. Jesus was sent as the last and ultimate sacrifice for mankind and it is thru Him only that we can restore fellowship with God for all eternity. (Luke 1:26-35, John 14:6, Acts 2:36, Philippians 2:5-12)

 HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit as an equal to God and Jesus Christ the Son of God, which makes the Trinity. Whose purpose is to convict the lost sinner to redemption in Jesus Christ and upon believing in Jesus (salvation) resides in the heart of man. He will continually guide, give power to, and bring spiritual understanding, to all men who receive the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:11, John 16:7-13, Acts 1:4-8, I Corinthians 2:12, Ephesians 1:13-14) 

MAN

We believe man was created in the image of God that God and Man may fellowship one with another. However, through our disobedience, we became sinners, lost, and without hope, unable to restore that fellowship by ourselves. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2)

ETERNITY

We believe we were created to exist forever. We will either spend an eternity in Heaven forever joined with God by salvation thru Jesus Christ or we will spend an eternity separated from God in Hell having not received salvation thru Jesus Christ. (John 3:15-18, Romans 6:23, I John 2:25, Revelation 20:11-15) 

SALVATION

We believe that only by trusting and believing in Jesus Christ the Son of God, can man attained salvation. It is a gift from God by grace thru faith in Him, eternally securing the believer in Heaven. There is no other way; by works, by being a good person, except thru Jesus Christ. (John 14:6, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-7) 

ETERNAL SECURITY

We believe that eternal security was settled on Calvary by the sacrifice of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Upon ones repenting and believing and trusting in Jesus, they are eternally joined together with God in Heaven. Only by God’s grace is this achieved. (John 10:28-29, Hebrews 10:10-14, 1 Peter 1:3-5)

Mission

Crossover exists to magnify and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to bring the lost to a saving knowledge of Jesus, and encourage the unchurched to embrace fellowship with a group of believers.

Vision

It is the vision of Crossover to see what God sees; and He sees large.  We will have large hearts reaching out to all people in compassion and love, large actions that turn compassion and love into results; reaching out to those who are lost with an aim to use whatever means necessary to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.  We will reach out to those in need to provide for those needs within the bounds of God’s provision and grace.  We will give large to accomplish all that He would have us to do; not shrinking back in the face opposition, but leaping forward in the fullness of faith in Christ Jesus and His abundant provision for those who are called by His name.  We will be Christ centered.
